Limits - Algebraically

For review - remember you should be able to identify limits by looking at the graph or graph the piece-wise function first and then identify limits.

These are examples of the problems we did in class today. Hopefully these make help to make sense of why limits are so useful. You should be able to answer these questions as well.

Properties of Limits - These are the many different aspects of Direct Substitution. You should understand and be able to use them, but you don't have to memorize them.

Homework - Larson 7.0 1.3 #45-65 odds. You can access the book under Important Links on the right. Solutions are included in the actual text exercises.

Remember the strategies:
1) Direct Substitution (a.k.a. Plug-n-Chug)
2) Factor and Cancel
3) Rationalization
4) Simplifying Fractions
